Though it’s just a short drive from all the attractions and entertainment venues of Dallas (like the American Airlines Center and AT&T Stadium, Six Flags Over Texas, or Lone Star Park), Duncanville has plenty of its own treasures to offer. Like its quaint and charming historic Main Street downtown, which is filled with locally-owned shops, businesses, and restaurants to explore and enjoy. You can also catch a show at the premier Duncanville Community Theatre or participate in a fun event, like the DuncanSwitch Street Market.

Parks & Recreation

Get outside and explore! Acres of beautiful parkland, miles of trails, state-of-the-art recreation centers and facilities, and programs for all ages make it easy to get outside and stay active all year round. Find sports leagues, hiking and biking, fishing, picnicking, playgrounds, fitness classes, and so much more! Attend a tournamet, or host your own, at the premier Duncanville Fieldhouse, home to college, high school, and city youth and adult league events ,as well as camps, clinics, and team training. There’s also the Duncanville Recreation Center, where you can enjoy a gym, fitness center, and game rooms, as well as outstanding fitness and recreational programs for all ages.

Just outside of Duncanville, the breathtaking Joe Pool Lake offers over 1,800 acres of fishing, boating, picnicking, barbecuing, hiking, biking, and outdoor adventuring, right in your backyard.

Shopping & Dining

You never have to leave town to find everything you need, from big-box retailers and department stores to wine and beer shops to locally-owned businesses and restaurants. There are plenty of options to be found at the Cedar Park Shopping Center and along Camp Wisdom Road and Cockrell Hill Road. Along Main Street, you’ll find a wealth of smaller shops, restaurants, services, and businesses. The nearby Southwest Center Mall even provides an easily-accessible indoor mall shopping experience.

Public Education

Duncanville public school students attend Duncanville Independent School District, which serves over 60,000 residents in Duncanville, Dallas, Cedar Hill, and DeSoto. Current enrollment is over 13,000 students at nine elementary schools, three intermediate schools, three middle schools, one high school, and two alternative schools. The district is known for its high-achieving schools, achieving Exemplary and Met Standard ratings from the Texas Education Agency.
