It's home to major attractions

You don’t have to drive to Dallas to experience big-city excitement. Arlington is home to some pretty big national attractions, like AT&T Stadium (where the NFL's Dallas Cowboys play) and Texas Rangers Globe Life Field (home to MLB's Texas Rangers). Both venues also also host a number of other big events throughout the year, including performances by nationally renowned artists.

Arlington is also home to Six Flags Hurricane Harbor and the International Bowling Museum & Hall of Fame. At the University of Texas at Arlington, you’ll find even more interesting places to explore, like the Mainstage Theatre and Texas Hall, The Gallery, The Planetarium Dome Theater, and College Park Center.

There are great local attractions, too

Life in Arlington isn't just about the big things; in fact, some of Arlington's smaller local hotspots are part of what makes life truly spectacular in this city. In Downtown Arlington, you'll find a number of outstanding local eateries and bars, as well as the Arlington Museum of Art and the Levitt Pavilion Arlington, which hosts free concerts throughout the year.

The Parks Mall at Arlington isn't just a mall filled with stores and restaurants—it's also got a movie theater and ice skating rink. And the neighboring Arlington Highlands is home to a Studio Movie Grill, The Improv Theatre, and plenty of other bars, brewhouses, and restaurants.

There are lush fields, scenic woods, sparkling lakes, and miles of hiking and biking trails… all just waiting for you to stop on by. And on Lake Arlington, you’ll find boating, jet-skiing, kayaking and canoeing, fishing, and more.

Arlington is also home to several city-run facilities and programs. There’s a tennis center, an aquatics center, and several recreation centers, which host sports, classes, and fitness programs for all ages.

No matter what you’re looking for—grocery, dry cleaning, shops and boutiques, unique local eateries or fast-food chains—you’ll find it in Arlington. Major shopping centers include Lincoln Square, Cooper Street Commons, and Bardin Place Center, as well as The Parks Mall at Arlington and Arlington Highlands. There are also plenty of smaller shopping and commercial centers scattered throughout the city.

There are great educational options

Most younger residents of Arlington are served by Arlington Independent School District, which educates over 60,000 students while maintaining a low student-teacher ratio and high graduation rate. Some parts of Arlington may be zoned to neighboring districts, including Mansfield ISD, Grand Prairie ISD, and Kennedale ISD—all of which are highly rated.

Job opportunities abound

You might have heard about the booming growth of business in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex (and possibly Toyota North America’s big relocation to the area). Toyota isn’t the only major company making the move—DFW is a hotspot for major employers. But you don’t have to leave Arlington to find top-notch employment.
